Making the community safer

Burraton Community Association has followed the example of other organisations in Saltash by providing lifesaving equipment at its community centre.

The management committee felt that as the centre was used by so many community members of all ages and possible vulnerabilities, it would provide an additional service by installing a potentially lifesaving defibrillator.

David Phillips of Cardiac Science was invited to the centre to demonstrate how to use the defibrillator and gave other valuable advice on how to save lives in association with using the equipment.

There is now a defibrillator in the front entrance to the centre which the management committee feel will be of great importance if needed by the users of the centre and beyond.
